It’s well and truly Vintage in the Yarra Valley – Vendange if you’re French. It’s that time of year when the grapes are picked and made into wine.
We visit a number of our wine making friends at this time of year – wine always has a story, like the rings a person wears on their fingers, and we love the stories. (We also love rings…)
This is the home block Pinot Noir of Syd and Anna and their three girls. They have a wine brand called Thick as Thieves, which Syd has made various wines for over the years, but this is a first. This is the first pick of the fruit off their own home block. Five acres of meticulously renovated vineyard. The fruit looked amazing, the perfect timing for the harvest, and no doubt meticulous attention to detail will see this wine be one of Syd’s greats.
